If drivers are out of date or if components are not functioning well within the system, the execution times of the drivers can be too long and prevent other drivers from having the ability to do their job.

Here's a quick heads-up for 1st gen Focusrite Scarlett owners. I posted a review of the 2nd gen 2i2 a few weeks ago and a couple people left comments saying that they were able to get the lower latency on the 1st gen Scarletts by using the 2nd gen drivers, so I tested it out with my 1st gen 2i4 and it does indeed work with the 2nd gen driver, and overall latency is less than half of what it other software products to which your registration entitles you are available for download, complete with activation codes where applicable. 4.
